Mataram, 9 September 2023 – 10 UM Arabic Language Lecturers took part in the XIVth International Arabic Language Scientific Meeting (PINBA), which took place from 6 to 9 September 2023 at UIN Mataram. The event was attended by experts, scientists and lecturers who are experts in Arabic from various countries.
In this meeting with the theme “Exploring the Riches of the Arabic Language in Contemporary Scientific Studies”, a number of topics related to the Arabic language, Arabic literature and Arab culture were discussed in depth. One of the UM Arabic lecturers who took part in this activity was Prof. Dr. Hanik Mahliatussikah, S.Ag., M.Hum. One of the main highlights of the event was the presentation delivered by Prof. Dr. Hanik Mahliatussikah, S.Ag., M.Hum., Professor of Sastra Arab, Fakultas Sastra, Universitas Negeri Malang.
Prof. Hanik presented his paper entitled “Dilalatul Fashilah Al-Qur`aniyyah fi Surati Al-Munafiqun,” which is the result of his in-depth research on linguistic phenomena in the text of the Al-Qur’an. The paper discusses language patterns and the use of words in the letter Al-Munafiqun in the Qur’an. This presentation reveals important findings that could have significant implications in further understanding the text of the Qur’an.
Prof. Hanik also emphasized the importance of a deep understanding of Arabic in the study of the Qur’an, because this language is the main medium used in the Qur’an. In addition, he hopes that studies like this will continue to encourage scientific developments in the study of Arabic and a better understanding of the text of the Qur’an.
The XIVth International Arabic Language Scientific Meeting at UIN Mataram became a forum for scientists, lecturers and researchers to share their knowledge and understanding of the Arabic language. This event is also a means to promote academic collaboration between universities and research institutions throughout the world in an effort to increase understanding of Arabic language and culture.
With the end of PINBA XIV at UIN Mataram, participants and stakeholders hope that the research outcomes and discussions that took place during this meeting will make a valuable contribution to the development of Arabic language studies and a deeper understanding of Arabic language and literature learning, including the study of Quranic literature.
Apart from seminars, there was also the VII IMLA (Indonesian Arabic Language Teachers Association) conference and the III PPPBA (Arabic Language Education Study Program Association) MUNAS (Musyawarah Nasional /National Forum). In this MUNAS, Prof. Hanik, who is the Head of the UM Arabic Language Teaching Master’s Study Program, was elected as chairman of PPPBA for the 2023-2027 term. This 4-year activity was attended by hundreds of Arabic Language Education study programs and Arabic Literature study programs in Indonesia, including 14 participants from Arabic language study programs in the Middle East.
